This gorgeous family came to visit their oldest daughter and wanted to have family pictures taken at the beach. I'll be honest, I'm usually not one who likes for everyone to be matching because it's too much of just one color..but this came together so tastefully! Especially with all of the different textures. Anyways, this leads me to my next topic of conversation…
Client Closets.
I know there are many many talented photographers out there that offer this as part of their pricing/packages and unfortunately, I do not. And not because I don't think it's a good idea. It has more to do with limitations; not being able to provide an all inclusive closet (at least without having to charge much much more) for all shapes and sizes along with each unique individual and their personalities. It's just very limiting and in my mind, keeping your look and wardrobe within a box. As if these are the lines of a box and I can't shoot outside of this box. Which is all false. Do I wish my clients put 200% effort into their styling? 1000% yes! But I also don't want you coming looking so out of your comfort zone in your clothing choices that the discomfort is showing right through in your photographs. Because here's the deal, I can make pretty photographs with you in a jeans and a tee shirt and chucks on. Or butt nekked. I believe in individuality and I want that to transpire into your session. I don't want the monotony of the same clothes and the same colors and the same everything. What I will do is HELP you make choices that will look good only if you ask me (and please do ask me!). But, my style of work will not change regardless if you're in some jaw dropping gown or in cut offs and at tank.
Just food for thought when you want to choose a photographer with a closet closet. Are they offering an all inclusive closet?
